Whimsical Glass Platters Upcycled from Wine Bottles | Designs by Heidi - Various Options Designs by Heidi

Our new whimsical platters are artisan made locally in New Fairfield, CT. Bottles of varying colors, sizes and shapes are sometimes decorated with confetti or molds are placed on the bottles to create an effect. It's a unique and creative way to up cycle the bottles. These creative and unusal platters make unique hostess gifts, birthday presents and make a great conversation in your own home!

Curious how they are made? The artisan uses a process called slumping. It's the art of using a kiln to heat glass bottles to 1,400 degrees Fahrenheit, at which point they collapse on themselves. The process takes about 20 hours before they are decorated.

Slumped wine bottles become glass cheese platters. Other bottles like mason jars become butter dishes, spoon rests or anything you can imagine!

Each platter is uniquely packaged and includes a stainless steel cheese knife (sizes and color vary.) Each piece is one of a kind.

Bottles are pictured in plastic cellophane wrap.
