This is my Mom Colleen. She’s amazing! She is so giving and kind. She would give her last penny to a stranger (seriously!) She grew up in a family with four brothers which has made her fiercely independent. She taught me and my daughter Sarah to be strong, independent women and my brothers and son to be respectful and kind. She taught all of us that everyone’s point of view matters. Clearly this worked, since this doesn’t seem to be a problem for our crew! She taught me that we all have talent, and to use it. Growing up she insisted that we think for ourselves. She wanted us to be educated and to never stop learning! (she proudly threw me a party when I FINALLY graduated from Grad School last August.) Our family owes everything to her; she’s our rock and our greatest support. She’s our family’s inspiration to work hard, to care for others, and to be strong even when we don’t think we have it in us. She taught us to trust in God and to support family, no matter what. My brothers and I feel so lucky to have been raised by such an amazing woman.
Sunday May 9th it is Mother’s Day. So, whomever you call “Mom” - whether it is your Birth Mom, Step Mom, Grandmother, Your Aunt, Your Godmother … this is your reminder to do something special for her and treat her right and after this past year, I’m sure your “Mom” deserves a little pampering :)
