Romford - Zero Prophet Organic Whole Bean Coffee - 2 Sizes Zero Prophet Coffee LLC

R O M F O R D is a mélange, a blend of three differently roasted beans (usually Bali, Nicaragua, and Brasil) to create a complex, rich, powerful cup. It was named after their neighborhood. It's for people who like their coffee strong, via ibrik/cezva, moka, or french press. Inspired by Copenhagen, Wiener Mélange, and plenty of Turkish coffee.

Part of every purchase helps raise funds for a great organization: we’re donating $1 per sale of our coffee bags bearing a Fundacion perros sin nombre sticker to the Fundacion, which looks out for the welfare of stray dogs (and now also cats!) through a feeding program, population control, and preventive medicine. The foundation is based in Tela, Atlántida, Honduras.

This is the most exotic flavor coffee we offer.

About Zero Prophet Coffee

Zero Prophet Coffee is a micro-roaster in Washington CT. Their mission is to elevate your experience of coffee to the highest level, and keep it there. They find the best coffees available and experiment until they've found the optimum roast for each bean. They believe in variety and regularly experiment with new beans, by choice and out of necessity because of harvest cycles. Roasting to order in small batches ensures that we provide an exceptional, fresh product that reflects our passion for coffee.

All the coffee is certified organic, and much of it is also fair-trade, rain-forest, bird-friendly, or otherwise certified to be ethically farmed and sold to support the communities that bring you the best coffee possible. In addition to Vienna coffee-house style, they're influenced by copious espresso drinking in Italy, and by such stateside standards as Peet's.

What about the name, Zero Prophet Coffee? What does it mean? In part, it means that they don’t prioritize the profit motive, though they aren't hardly averse to it (they need to sustain their business). It means that they believe in donating to good causes. And it reflects our core belief that creativity transcends practical constraints. The constant need to re-create the good gives our life meaning; a daily errand, coffee roasting, embodies an ideal.

 How They Roast

  • Each single varietal is roasted to order, and to the level that best suits the bean.

  • Their preferred house style is the dark end of medium roast, also called Vienna roast, which is equivalent to northern Italian espresso.

  • Their coffee descriptions include notes about which coffee-making method best suits the blend or single-origin bean.

Certifications

  • All  coffee is certified Organic, and their roastery is certified by Baystate Organic Certifiers. Much of the coffee they carry is also Fair Trade, Rain Forest Alliance certified, and Bird-Friendly.

Coffee is sold whole bean in vent-locked biotre bags.
